Eileen Huffman was an amazing woman. Eileen was a woman of excellence, integrity and courage. Her battle with breast cancer was one facet of her incredible life. On a daily basis, she chose to fight the cancer and actively live her life to the fullest. Eileen was a warm, caring person who befriended people and wanted them
to live their best life. She loved a challenge and believed fully in
the power of setting and accomplishing goals. She excelled at most of what she did and strongly encouraged and helped those around her to do the same.
Eileen died December 1, 2009. Eileen was a gifted athlete and loved to be fit and active, participating in many 5k, 10k and even two half marathon road races.
Eileen Huffman was the Class 5A third place finisher at the Kansas State track meet in the 400 meter dash both her junior and senior years at Newton High School and was named to the Ark Valley All-League Volleyball Team her senior year. She attended KU on a volleyball scholarship, and she played as an outside hitter for four years and was captain of the KU volleyball team while earning a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. She also received a master’s degree in mathematics education from KU.
She became an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1996, advancing to Circle of Excellence Cadillac Sales Director and earning a pink Cadillac. She became one of the top-earning Mary Kay Sales Directors in the company, earning numerous awards trips to Spain, Sweden, Germany and Italy.
Eileen was a wonderful wife to Scott Huffman and a loving mother to Courtney, Jessica and Timothy Huffman. She will be missed, yet her legacy will continue.
